Screen flickers due to monitor resolution set too high.
Cause:
The selected resolution is not supported by the monitor. Selecting a higher resolution than recommended by the monitor manufacturer may cause damage to the monitor.
Solution:
Lower the resolution on the 'Display' dialog box in 'Control Panel'.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)

3) Double-click the 'Display' icon. (The 'Display Properties' dialog box appears.)

4) Click the 'Settings' tab. (The 'Settings' tabbed page appears.)
5) Click 'Change Display Type...'. (The 'Change Display Type' dialog box appears.)

6) Click 'Change...' in the 'Monitor Type' section.

7) Click 'Show all devices'.
8) Select a lower resolution from the 'Models' list.
NOTE: The currently selected resolution is highlighted.
9) Click 'OK'.
10) Click 'Apply'. (A 'Systems Setting Change' dialog box appears, prompting as to whether to restart the computer. The computer must be restarted for the settings to take effect.)
11) Click 'Yes' to enable settings immediately.
12) If flicker still occurs, repeat the above steps, lowering the resolution each time.
